Last Thursday my brother George and I went to see Morrissey at the Barrowlands in Glasgow. It was a first time for him; it was the fourth time for me. We met some lovely people before, during and after the gig and I want to pass on a big hello and thanks from both of us - I enjoyed meeting fellow people who share my illness, he liked meeting people that would talk to me so I would stop talking to him!
Mrs. Chivas had absented herself from this concert when I made it clear that I intended to queue for hours and get as close to the stage as possible - and, security permitting, take part in the grandest of Morrissey traditions - the stage invasion.
Well, I did get over the barrier - but I did not get onstage. Security was BRUTAl and only one person out of the 4,000 that was there made it at the end of the night.
However, using my superior knowledge of all things Moz; mostly gained through my patronage of the finest website on the Net -
www.morrissey-solo.com - I left the gig as soon as the TREMENDOUSLY ROCKING version of I'm Okay By Myself was finished, knowing that only the Encore of First Of The Gang To Die was too come. By doing so I got to get my hands on this!

While one dream was cruelly snatched away that night another came true with the above. It is the Years Of Refusal Vinyll by the way, not a poster.
Mrs Chivas and I are travelling to Manchester on the 21st for the big 50th Birthday gig on the 22nd. Emotions will be running high that night so we'll be keeping a safe distance from the hardcore that night.
Reports on that next week.
